Island Activities

Jamaica is an island of many rivers, waterfalls, and beautiful forests. The mountains on the eastern end rise 7,200 feet above sea level. When viewed from a distance they take on a bluish cast, giving them the name the Blue Mountains.

Jamaica is a great place to hike, bike, take a tree canopy tour, raft down a river, climb a waterfall, snorkel and scuba dive, learn Caribbean cooking or wood carving. It has an artistically vibrant music scene that was pushed to the world stage with reggae legend Bob Marley. The people of Jamaica are naturally artistic, and you can experience their creativity in dance, music, and food, among the roadside artisans.

You can fill your day with as much—or as little!—as your heart desires. Relax on the beach, or experience the myriad of sightseeing on the north coast, inland, and throughout the island. Retire early and listen to the gentle waves on the shore, or rock to the reggae in one of the hottest night clubs.

Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios is on the north shore, referred to as the Gold Coast. Once a small fishing village, it now has a population of about 20,000 residents and is a major cruise ship port. “Ochie” is small compared to other cities in Jamaica that attract tourists, but its picturesque landscape and first-rate attractions are making it one of the fastest growing tourist destinations on the island.

Hermosa Cove is totally secluded and yet walking distance from the center of Ochie.
